“I tallied up the amount of produce we have donated in our community through May 29th (2025). It comes to 954 lbs! Using a very sound value/ cost per generic pound($3.85) that comes to a $3,673.00 produce value to our community. God has blessed us to be able to provide. Words can not describe how good this makes Phyllis and me feel.” ~ Jim Kirksey, Owner (with wife Phyllis) of Rocky Park Farm in Friendsville, TN
This news was shared with the farm’s staff in early June and met with much humility and gratitude to know they played big a part in this mission to help fight food insecurity, set out upon by the Kirksey’s. It proves that once you set your sight on a goal and walk toward it fully supported, anything is possible.
Rocky Park Farm would like to thank you, our community, for supporting this mission and ask that you continue to. This, so that we can flourish in our ability to provide fresh, organically and sustainably grown produce to those experiencing food insecurity across Blount County, Tennessee. Remember, Rocky Park Farm is a not-for-profit farm and all produce sales are considered donations. In turn, those monies are used to buy seed, supplies, keeping the greenhouses and equipment running, perform needed upgrades, and pay our small and dedicated staff for their very hard work, year ’round.
We also want to thank two of our valued local partners: Maryville College and Amburn’s Market in Maryville for buying Rocky Park Farm’s produce. Their support helps tremendously in accomplishing our mission of fighting food insecurity. We hope to continue serving the community in this capacity for years to come!
